Claude Pro is $20 a month, or $17 a month billed yearly. Max costs $100 for 5× Pro usage or $200 for 20×, monthly only. Every plan meters a rolling 5-hour session, and paid plans add a weekly limit. Chat and Claude Code spend the same pool, and Anthropic no longer publishes a fixed message count.
Usage runs on a rolling 5-hour session. Paid plans add a weekly limit across all models, reset at a fixed time assigned to your account and shown in Settings → Usage.
Max 5x and Max 20x multiply the Pro per-session allowance. The pricing page says there is no fixed message count.
Claude on web, desktop and mobile, and Claude Code in the terminal or IDE, all draw from the same pool.
After a limit you can wait, upgrade, or turn on usage credits billed at standard API rates.
Anthropic does not run a public goodwill-reset program.

Claude pricing and limits FAQ
How much does Claude Pro cost?
Claude Pro is $20 a month billed monthly, or $17 a month on the annual plan ($200 paid up front). Prices are for web subscriptions; mobile app pricing can differ.
Claude Code has no separate subscription. It is included in Pro ($20 a month) and Max ($100 or $200), and it spends the same usage as chat. If you would rather pay per use, you can point Claude Code at a Console account and pay API rates instead.
Claude meters a rolling 5-hour session, and paid plans also have a weekly limit. Anthropic does not publish a fixed number of messages. How far a session goes depends on conversation length, model, features and effort. Pro gives at least 5× Free per session; Max gives 5× or 20× Pro.
The session limit resets every five hours. The weekly limit resets at a fixed time each week that is assigned to your account. Settings → Usage shows your next reset time.
No. Claude Code in the terminal or an IDE shares the same Pro or Max limits as the Claude apps. Run /status to see where you are. Heavy coders can also switch Claude Code to pay-as-you-go API credits through a Console account.
You can wait for the reset, move to a higher plan, or turn on usage credits. Credits are billed separately at standard API rates and cover both Claude conversations and Claude Code.
